Daily Inspiration with Sharon

hello hello!

The year is drawing to a close, so one of the projects I've designed for December is a calendar for 2012.

Love 2012 sneaks 1

It'll be a fun project to do for yourself or to give away as a gift.  See you at class?

Everyday surprises

Happy Sunday! Here's my art journal to share with you. I started the page by painting the background with acrylic paints. Then I covered the tag with tissue paper. I played with alcohol ink this time to create the background and white wash with gesso on the tag. I did a storybook page transferred, cut out images and embossed with black embossing powder. I applied a few tissue images on the page too. Have fun with your paint, alcohol ink, gesso and gel medium today! Enjoy!

Shopping Saturday with Shirley!

Hello! How's your week been? Mine's a little hectic even though my trip to Bangkok was cancelled! (Boohoo!) Anyway, since I'm still here in Singapore, how can I forget to shop??!!

Here's a little something that was out a long time ago, but it's use has been very underated. In fact, both these things that I'm about to intro to you has been around for some time. Now, I will show you how I used it in my recent scraplifted project!
It's the Big Bite, the bigger brother to the Crop-A-Dile. I used this and Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Back canvas to make this album.

Check out my album that was an inspiration from one of July's class.

Using the sticky back canvas, I pasted the whole thing onto a cardboard carton both front and back. I did use Beacons to make sure the sticky back canvas stayed onto my cardboard. Then, leaving the spine without cardboard, I stuck 2 sheets of canvas together to make the spine. (The canvas is very tough).

Using the Big Bite, I made holes in the spine of the album as well as the signatures inside the album. It was really easy as the Big Bite had a good reach. Then I "eyeletted" the holes in the spine.

Here's how the completed album looks from the top. Easy peasy! (Oh ya, I painted the canvas so it's kinda bluey!)

Enjoy!
Cheers

Daily Inspiration with Janice Boon

11 November 2011 yes 11.11.11 such a special day for my good friend Regine whom had her ROM on this day and had decided to make her a board to welcome all her guest attending the Solemnization. Have chose to use the beautiful collections from Glitz design -Beautiful dreamer and vintage blue.

 Janice1

The "Peek-A-boos" frames are just perfect for adding the elegant touch to the layerings.

Another of my new favourites are the Pink Paislee Expressions Wood Shop letterings! They are simply so easy to incoporate, just paint them or mist them to match your Layouts or anything. I painted it in white then distressed it alittle with Distress ink.

Wishing Regine and Jaz happiness today, tomorrow and forever.

Have a Creative week Ahead!

Daily Inspiration with July

Hello Sunday!

Its me again sharing with you an entry from my Art Journal. I love textures! and here's one way to create them by using Gesso (by Studio) and stencil (from Creative Imaginations). And i also used a cling mount stamp (by Dina Wakley) which i looove!

11Nov2011 062

after collaging and painting my background, i stamped the images a few times and painted one of the image with black paint to make it darker. Then, i stencilled by using gesso (this is to create the texture)

And here's how my finished entry look like....
